Tortilla Rolls (Vegetarian)

Tortilla Roll is a very simple starter that you can make for any kind of party, especially for high-tea parties. My aunty from Texas, Rina Misra had suggested this dish. Actually Abhishek had been to her place for Thanksgiving last year and she had made couple of tasty bite sized items and this is one of them. So for the recent party at our place, Abhishek suggested we make this. In fact he was the one who made it from scratch and it turned out to be such a hit...So I could not resist posting it even though I don't have even a single picture of it now with me..

What all to use :
  • Tortilla - big burrito size (preferably 'Mission' brand)
  • Cream cheese (preferably 'Philadelphia' brand)
  • Jalapeños (bottled)
  • Pitted olives (canned)
  • Coloured peppers - yellow, red, green
  • Cilantro
All that you would need (as listed above is easily available in any Walmart store), so as far as purchasing is concerned you have nothing to worry about!!

You could use fresh Jalapeños and Olives (de-seed them and use).

How to make it:
  • Chop them all - jalapeños, olives, peppers, cilantro. (Make sure to drain the liquid out of the  bottle / can for the  jalapeños / olives).
  • Take all of these in a big bowl and mix well.
  • Pour and blend in the cream cheese with the above ingredients.
  • Take out the tortilla rolls, use a spoon to pour the above cream cheese mixture on them.
  • Roll them up.
  • Use saran wraps to cover the rolls up ans put them in the fridge for at least about 20 minutes.
  • When ready to serve take the rolls out, take off the covering and cut into bite sized pieces and serve.
