- Brown Sugar - 1 & 1/2 cups
- Butter (softened) - 1 cup (2 sticks)
- Egg - 1
- Oats (quick-cooking) - 2 cups
- All purpose flour - 1 & 1/2 cups
- Chocolate chips (semisweet) - 1 cup
- Baking soda - 1 tsp
- Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
Optional
- Walnuts (chopped) - 1 cup
Method :
- Get the butter out of the refrigerator and let it get soft at room temperature.
- Mix the brown sugar and butter until blended.
- Add in the vanilla extract and the egg. Mix until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the oats, flour, baking soda. Also add the chocolate chips and the chopped walnuts if you using it. You can use a stand mixer or knead slightly with hand after mixing with a spoon
- Preheat the over to 350 F.
- Slightly grease the cookie sheet with butter / spray.
- Place tablespoonful of the dough on the cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart from each other. You can also make small balls and pat them to make small cakes and place them on the sheet.
- Bake for about 9-11 minutes, or until they are golden brown in color.
- Cool slightly and then take out the cookies from the sheet and place them on a wire rack.
